Bernardo says Hi!
Some thoughts about your autobiographical WHO ARE YOU: Ethnic Roots. Remember this is your own story so it is a celebration of you, your family, your ethnicity, your family culture and rituals. Since this is your story, you will no doubt make it your own. The energy you give to this will be a wise investment in yourself, for you will be able to share this with others in the future, namely your students.
Enjoy yourselves and reflecting about who you are!
If you have any questions, give a holler!

Name: PaulaI am enjoying this assignment, although I am finding it a bit difficult to incorporate as many visuals as I would like because I do not have pictures of some of my grandparents. This had made me think....if I want my children to love their roots as much as I love mine...I must not only tell them the stories...but I really need to have these pictures in our home. I have already called my mom and asked her if when we are in California for Spring break...I can go through her family pictures and make copies. I think my end product to this assignment will end-up being more of a written/verbal/oral presentaion/interpretation...I think....I'm still working on it!

Name: SheeresaI did not know what was expected. But looking at everyone's projects I think we all did a great job on the ROOT'S project. This would be great to do with our own students for a class project in social studies (Our History).

Name: StefaneI also think that this is a great assignment. I will definitely do this with my own students. I have done projects before that describe who I am and what I like but you can't really understand a person until you know where they come from. This is why I think this is such a thourough project.

Name: Juanita BegayI enjoyed this project because I was able to look back at my life and what and who has contributed to it. What have I learned from my past that I am instilling in my son today. This would be great for my class so that I can see the diversity they contribute to my classroom and other students.
